Hastin the bull, Epified

Krishna was cow-herder, along with many of his friends and family member. Episode 12 starts off explaining how Balram, Krishna's older brother, would tell others how he wanted to become strong and kill one of their strongest bulls. Their strongest and most violent bull was Hastin. It seemed like he was the alpha of all their other cows and even the alpha of some of the cow-herders. Why was Balram measuring his strength on whether he could kill a bull? This part just did not make sense to me because I feel like any human could kill a bull anytime if they really wanted to.
And Krishna proceeds to tell Balram that killing Hastin is not a good deed and almost challenges him against it. Krishna then tells everyone that he will be able to form a peaceful bond with the violent bull and eventually even ride Hastin. I was curious about what made Hastin the way he was. Was he abused by some of the cowherds? When seeing this part, I was particularly alarmed at how Krishna stood up against his older brother, someone with seemingly more wisdom and experience. Everyday since then, Krishna would slowly get closer and closer to the bull day by day, and he gave Hastin beautiful music from a flute and better food. Eventually, Hastin became more comfortable with Krishna, and Krishna was able to climb on the bulls back to show everyone. This taught everyone a lesson that one should not exploit someone else's vulnerabilities in order to make yourself look better or stronger. Balram wanted to kill the violent bull to prove that he was strong. Instead, Krishna showed everyone that it was taming and being kind to the bull that proved he was someone possessing strength. This was one of my favorite stories so far.
