Famous Last Words: Productive, yet chaotic
Do you ever feel like you are drowning in stress and the fear of the unknown? This has been a common theme of my past couple of months. I know you may be wondering: How are you already this stressed? It is only the second week of classes!
Last week, I took the Medical College Admission Test, which is the standardized exam for students applying to medical school. Studying for this test is a grueling process, as it is a 7 hour exam, and counts as a significant factor in your application. So instead of having the typical "chill" Syllabus week, I was swarmed with negative, self-deprecating thoughts and doubt in my abilities.
Distracted with this chaos, I fell behind in some of my other class, including this one!
But, the good news? The exam is over, and I am free from these struggles I was facing, even though I am frantically playing catch up in many of my classes.
So when thinking about my reading and writing for classes, it was definitely not even close to my best effort or work. However, I am feeling some relief about it because the official Ramayana reading does not start until this coming week. I can also benefit off of my previous experience in this class, as I understand the weekly schedule and the general format of reading, reading notes, storytelling, and commenting.
I have already enjoyed reading people's introductions, and from the one's I read, it looks like this class has many students with adorable pets-- which can always put a big smile on my face. Going forward, I am excited to focus more on what I want to. And this is taking care of myself, being more physically active, focusing on my other courses such as this one, and closing all of those MCAT preparatory books, hopefully, forever. This week, I am even starting yoga classes!
