Kunti and the Baby, Epified

Part B of this Epified series begins with discussing Kunti's past. As a young woman, Kunti lived with her uncle, the king. A man named Durwasa approaches her family's kingdom. People knew Durwasa for being an angry man, filled with hate and tendencies to place curses and pain upon other people. We see that everyone avoids him for these reasons. However, the narrator develops Kunti's character as she is not phased to approach the man with the worst reputation. Kunti does not judge a book by the cover, and she does not judge the man until she interacts with him herself. Was Durwasa's reputation a result of rumor or gossip? Or did Durwasa deserve this reputation? Because she treats him like a normal human being, he gives her a special gift of a magical mantra in which if she speaks it, the words will summon any god of choice. She calls Suryadev to test the gift, and the goddess amazingly appears. After the interaction, Kunti is left with a child. Why does this child appear? Why is he placed in Kunti's hands? Because it is unfeasible for her to properly take care of the child, appearing randomly from the eyes of other people, she makes the hard decision to place the son in a basket. The basket would float on a river for someone else to hopefully find. This part of the story reminded me of the biblical story of Moses. In efforts to save her child, Moses's mother places him in the Nile River to save him from being killed. What was Kunti so inclined to get the baby out of her possession? Was she afraid of being judged, or was she scared of what other people would think? Would she be forced to exile because having a baby before marriage was not socially acceptable? That is my guess. In my opinion, the baby was placed in her arms for a reason, and she should've taken the gesture more seriously, rather than trying to just get rid of the problem.
